Pink Shirt Day support
Today all shades of pink were represented by Cawthron staff in a move that celebrates diversity and encourages positive social relationships.
The pink attire was in aid of Pink Shirt Day, a Mental Health Foundation initiative which asks New Zealanders to Speak up and Stand together to Stop bullying.
Cawthron Health and Safety Advisor Jessica Trott explained the staff’s involvement in the day aligns with the organisation’s overall workplace wellness programme.
“New Zealand has been celebrating Pink Shirt Day since 2009. This year Cawthron is joining the conversation saying, mental health is important and we support the wellbeing of all staff.
“The day has been a great success with many showing solidarity in pink. We had a great turn out at our lunchtime fundraising event and it has sparked positive conversations,” said Mrs Trott.
Cawthron Institute has an active workplace wellness programme. This programme was established to support the organisation’s people to achieve health, happy, and productive lives. The result is a positive workplace often described as the ‘Cawthron Community Culture’.
